CO-436: Nonylphenol polyoxyethylene ether ammonium sulfate, molecular formula C23H43NO8S, anionic surfactant.

Performance and application:

1. In addition to the hydrophobic nonylphenol group, CO436 also contains two types of hydrophilic groups: the ethylene oxide chain can be used alone in the emulsion polymerization formulation.

2. Non-ionic group composed of; and anionic group -SO4ˉ composed of sulfate radical. Therefore, CO436 is actually an anionic-nonionic emulsifier, which can be used alone during emulsion polymerization. Because of its small CMC value and low dosage when used, the prepared latex has the characteristics of small particle size, which makes the emulsion film transparent and the brightness of the film close to oil-based resin.

3. After the synthetic emulsion is formed into a film, its adhesiveness, water resistance, yellowing resistance, scrub resistance and other properties have a great relationship with the emulsifier selected for the system. Because the small molecule emulsifier can migrate from the adhesive layer and be enriched on the surface of the adhesive layer, the above-mentioned defects are caused. CO436 is a high-efficiency emulsifier. It is used in the system in a small amount. Besides, it is an ammonium salt emulsifier. The migration and enrichment capacity is much lower than that of sodium salt.

Application field:

Used for acrylic emulsion polymerization, such as pure acrylic, vinegar-acrylic, tertiary-acrylic, styrene-acrylic, silicon-acrylic or other hybrid systems. The products involve laminating adhesives, pressure-sensitive adhesives, construction emulsions, textile emulsions, leather finishing agents, Paper treatment emulsion, ink emulsion, paint emulsion, adhesive emulsion, etc.
